How it works

From application to graduation

  1. 1Apply online

    Choose a programme in distance-learning mode and apply through the Garissa University application portal. You will need your certificates and ID.

  2. 2Get admitted and register

    Once admitted, you receive a student portal account. Register for your units and pay fees by M-Pesa through eCitizen.

  3. 3Learn online, meet in class

    Study each unit on the eLearning platform: notes, videos, quizzes and assignments, plus live online classes with your lecturers.

  4. 4Assessment and graduation

    Continuous assessment happens online; examinations follow the University's calendar and rules. Results and transcripts are in the student portal.

What you need

  • A smartphone, tablet or computer
  • Internet access (mobile data works; most lessons also download for offline reading)
  • An email address and a Safaricom number for M-Pesa payments
  • Basic computer skills; a free orientation is given in the first week
